Project at a glanceThe project consists of a 40 kilometer bridge that connects the cities of Hong Kong, Macau & Zhuhai. With the bridge, the traveling time between Hong Kong Zhuhai will be significantly reduced from 4-5 hours to around 30 minutes. The bridge will bring prosperity and economic benefits to the three cities, though it also comes with a fair share of environmental, ecological and social drawbacks.
The bridge will arrive in the west of Hong Kong waters near Lantau Island, where it will continue as the Hong Kong Link Road until it reaches the Boundary Crossing Facing just east of the Hong Kong International Airport. The Boundary Crossing Facility is home to immigration, customs, quarantine and terminal facilities. |
